Hidden Oaks Golf Course formal unveiling occurred on June 1, 1999, as Michigan was re-introduced to a championship course featuring wooded, rolling terrain with some of the best greens in the state. Formerly known as Edgewood Hills, the nine-hole course began construction on a back-nine layout in 1998 that would incorporate natural wetlands and the exceptional touch of Jerry Matthews. As an 18-hole Championship Design, Hidden Oaks Golf Course has flourished into a venue fit for every golfer in search of an outstanding round among nature and all of its surroundings.
For nearly 30 years, Edgewood Hills, designed by the elder Matthews – Bruce, held the reputation of the best-kept secret in the Central Michigan area. With the completion of the back nine in 1999, Hidden Oaks Golf Course joined the ranks of the finest championship layouts in Michigan. St. Louis’ lone golf course has grown into a destination for players from Saginaw, Midland, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Detroit, and beyond.
