Thornridge Golf Course Nebraska

Thornridge Golf Course may only be a nine hole test, but it carries a pretty good course rating of 35.2. This par 36 layout is only 3,051 yards long, but it still has a slope of 128, which is pretty respectable. Olsson Associates designed the course which opened in 1991. The layout is interesting in that it features some short par threes and fours that make the two par fives seem even longer. The second hole and the ninth hole are both over 530 yards long. With the first hole a par four that measures just 283 yards, avid golfers can get off to a great start here. This is a bluffs course with elevation changes, lakes, and massive trees. Thorn trees are plentiful, and they contributed the name of the course. Five holes are below the bluffs; the other four are up on top.

Tall grasses and windflowers accompany the creek as it winds through the course. The fifth and ninth holes make creative use of the ledges. There is a risk/reward decision to either lay up of hit to a narrow fairway beyond a quick 15-foot drop. The facility includes a driving range, practice green, snack shack, and small pro shop. This is one of the golf courses in Milford, Nebraska that may be just nine holes, but it still may be considered one of the best golf courses in Nebraska.
