Southern Pines Golf Club Pinehurst Fayetteville

In the early part of the 20th century, Donald Ross emerged as one of the greatest golf architects of his day. In 1906, he designed the original nine at Southern Pines GC. The links-style course became a full 18-hole layout in 1912. The par 71 course plays at 6,268 yards from the tips. It carries a slope of 130 and a course rating of 70.3. Today, Southern Pines Golf Club tee times will allow you to experience an historic layout left intact for over a century. The par fives are under 500 yards long, and most of the par fours are less than 400 yards long. And yet, the slope of 130 is as high as many courses measuring 600-700 yards longer. This is a testament to the design work of the legendary Donald Ross.

Plus, this is a course that continues to garner accolades a century later. In 2012, GolfWeek named it to its list of best courses. In 2011, Business North Carolina magazine named it as number one of the best golf courses in North Carolina. Southern Pines offers a driving range, practice green, and pro shop. Both food and beverages are served. Your journey around this Southern Pines golf course will take you past endless stands of longleaf pines and displays of colorful azaleas. Creative bunkering around the undulating greens demands that your short game be fine-tuned for the experience. Get tee times in Southern Pines in the heart of the Sandhills region for a historic golfing journey.
