Ann Arbor Country Club Ann Arbor

This Ann Arbor golf course operated as a private country club for many years; it is now open to the public. The par 72, 18-hole course is northwest of Ann Arbor. It measures 6,450 yards from the back tees, and the slope is a decent 132. The USGA course rating is 71.5. There are additional sets of tee boxes so golfers have the option of playing it as a shorter course. The historic layout dates back to 1929, so many large hardwoods frame numerous greens. Hit it in the trees, and you'll find yourself scrambling. There are also some more substantial rolling hills in places that will demand some good strategy to successfully negotiate.

One reviewer suggested that the course plays tougher than the yardage would indicate. The Ann Arbor Country Club Golf Course has a clubhouse with a PGA pro-run golf shop, dining room, and snack bar. Max & Bella's On The Green serves dinner each night. Entrees include delectable dishes like Salmon Wellington. There are junior programs, swimming, and tennis on the premises. When tee times in Ann Arbor at a reasonable cost are of interest, consider the country club atmosphere found at this course. Among the older, historic courses in this part of the state, this is perhaps one of the best golf courses in Michigan.
