This course plays much longer than its yardage indicates. The first two holes can lull a first-time visitor into a relaxed state of mind because they measure only a few hundred yards in length with no real hazards involved. Then over the span of the next eight holes, golfers must face five par 4s measuring over 400 yards in length. Hole #6, a 456-yard, par 4, is by far the most difficult hole on the course. It forces the average golfer to play the hole more like a par 5, or least nail a fairway wood on the approach shot if they plan on putting for a birdie. The courses terrain is also a factor, including tree-lined fairways, elevated greens and many changes in elevation. The somewhat sloped greens vary between medium to large in size, are a little on the firm side, and are well bunkered with average speed.
